Abel Point Marina, Airlie BeachAnchors Away Bareboat Charters do not permit their bareboat charters unsupervised access to Able Point Marina, Hamilton Island Marina, Hayman Island Marina or Palm Cove Marina. Please make arrangement through us at least 24 hours ahead if you wish to enter the above marinas. Thank you.

Hayman Island

Radio Contact: Call "Hayman Island, Hayman Island" on channel 16 when in sight. Hayman Island will direct you to another channel, usually channel 10. If Hayman does not answer, do not enter the marina - call again in a few minutes.
Booking Required: Yes, at least 24 hours notice is required to be given to Anchors Away Bareboat Charters so that arrangements can be made. The marina is often closed during school holidays and busy periods.
Cost: The daily mooring fee is for vessels carrying up to two passengers. There is a per person surcharge of $35.00 for vessels carrying in excess of two passengers. Marina operates between 10.00am and 3.30pm.

Mooring fees:

  • Berth up to 50 feet - $145.00 per day plus $95.00 per additional day/night.
  • Berth over 50 feet - $185.00 per day plus $95.00 per additional day/night.

This daily visit fee includes:

  • Marine fee
  • Access to the resort
  • Water tank refill
  • Rubbish removal
  • Please note supplies are NOT available at Hayman Marina.
Facilities Onshore: Dive shop, nurse, restaurants. Water can be taken on if prearranged - a fee is applicable.
Dress Regulations: Neat 'Queensland Resort Wear’; no T-shirts, cut-off jeans or thongs.

South Molle Island

Radio Contact: Not required. Report to reception on shore. South Molle does monitor channel 16 if you wish to call when in line of sight.
Booking Required: No - it's not possible to reserve an anchorage.
Cost: $22.00 per boat per night.
Anchorage Allowed: No moorings, anchor on eastern side of the jetty. Stay well clear of the jetty to allow access and room for the very large water taxis to manoeuvre. Take care as the anchorage shoals out at right angles with the jetty. Take the dinghy ashore to the beach, west of the jetty. Do not tie the dinghy to the jetty as it will be damaged.
Facilities Onshore: Dive tank refills, Polynesian seafood smorgasbord every Friday night, pool, showers and gym. Please note South Molle Island is National Park and visitors do not need to pay any fee at all unless they are using the resorts facilities. A sign on the beach implies otherwise but visitors are completely free to access the National Park through the resort without paying anything.

Hook Island

Radio Contact: Call "Hook Island, Hook Island" on channel 16 when in line of sight. Hook Island will direct you to another channel, usually channel 74. If there is no answer, pick up a mooring. Take your tender ashore to the resort and register at reception. Do not pick up the large tyre moorings.
Booking Required: No, it's not possible to reserve a mooring.
Cost: $45.00 overnight, $25.00 for up to four hours.
Anchorage Allowed: No - Access by one of two moorings only. This is a very deep area - do not anchor - the current running between the islands is very strong.
Facilities Onshore: Dive tank refills and outboard fuel, showers and toilets, some provisioning at the small general store, gift shop, pool, bushwalks and Restaurant - meals need to be pre-ordered. Underwater Observatory costs $8.00 per adult and $4.00 per child.

Long Island – Palm Bay Resort

Radio Contact: Call "Palm Bay, Palm Bay" on channel 16 when in line of sight. Palm Bay will direct you to channel 74. Do not enter until you've made contact.
Booking Required: Yes, please advise Anchors Away Bareboat Charters if you wish to use the marina at Palm Bay at least 24 hours in advance. Also advise if you would like lunch -cost starts at $30 per person or dinner - cost starts at $70 per person. Preference is given to those who are going to dine at the resort. Time of entry may be limited due to low tide restrictions.
Cost: $45 per night for the vessel plus an additional $25.00 per person. This entitles you to use a mooring and the resort's facilities.
Anchorage Allowed: No, you will have to pick up a mooring. There are seven moorings available within the lagoon for vessels with less than 2.5 metres draught, so Anchors Away Bareboat Charter cruisers are fine and 2 moorings outside the lagoon. Remember to call Palm Bay on channel 16 - they will bring you in. Do not enter the channel without assistance. Negotiating the channel requires local knowledge. You need to arrive before 3.00pm.
Facilities Onshore: The island shop is well stocked with a selection of meats, local fish and general grocery items at reasonable prices, as well as fine restaurants and many activities including bushwalks.

Long Island – Club Crocodile

Radio Contact: Call "Long Island Water Sports, Long Island Water Sports" on channel 11 when in line of sight. Club Crocodile Long Island will direct you to another channel. If there is no answer, pick up a mooring. Take your tender ashore and register at reception.
Booking Required: No, but usually recommended.
Cost: $55.00 per night for a mooring - allows you to use the resorts facilities.
Anchorage Allowed: No - Access via moorings only. There are ten moorings available.
Facilities Onshore: Bushwalking, showers, bar, restaurant, dive shop with dive tank refills, laundry, nurse.

Daydream Island

Radio Contact: Call "Daydream Island, Daydream Island" on channel 16 when in line of sight. Daydream Island will direct you to channel 74. If there is no answer, do not anchor. Wait and get permission to anchor first.
Booking Required: Please contact Anchors Away Bareboat Charters if you wish to go inside the marina at least 24 hours in advance.
Cost: Overnight in the marina costs between $60.00 and $80.00 depending on the size of the boat. It costs $45.00 for a mooring per night.
Anchorage Allowed: Six moorings are located on the east side of the island outside the marina. Anchorage may not be comfortable in winds over 15 knots. The marina is a protected area but is difficult to manoeuvre your boat.
Facilities Onshore: Dive tank refills, restaurants, bars, showers, shop in reception, registered nurse, photo processing.

Hamilton Island

Radio Contact: Call "Hamilton Island, Hamilton Island" on channel 16 when in line of sight. Hamilton Island will direct you to another channel usually channel 68. If there is no answer, do not enter Hamilton Island Harbour - try calling again.
Booking Required: Yes, via Anchors Away Bareboat Charters 24 hours ahead.
Cost:

Day visits are between 8.00am and 4.00pm (pending on berth availability). Overnight rates will apply from 4.00pm:

  • $10.00 per hour in day visit berth
  • Moorings are $58.00 per day
  • Overnight marina berth $84.00
Anchorage Allowed: No, you must use the Hamilton Island harbour facilities.
Facilities Onshore: Bakery, restaurants, laundry, general store, bottle shop, dive tank refills and hire of scuba gear, showers.

Club Med - Lindeman Island

Radio Contact: Call "Club Med Lindeman, Club Med Lindeman" when in line of sight on channel 16. They will direct you to another channel.
Booking Required: No booking is required. Club Med work on a first come first served basis.
Cost: Half day: $22.00 All day: $44.00.
Anchorage Allowed: Moorings available.
Facilities Onshore: Lunch or dinner: $72.00. Children 4-11: $37.00. Theatre, golf, restaurant, shower.
